     artist's statement:

Being raised in the mountains of North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee, I grew from a child who enjoyed all that the mountains had to offer from swinging off of huge grapevines to sliding down waterfalls. But as I became an adult, I also began to appreciate the beauty of God's magnificent creation of which I was so much a part of. In the late 80's I discovered that I had also been given the talent of painting, and with much joy I began to put on canvas what had been in my heart for so many years. It is with a heart of thanksgiving that I present to you paintings of my mountain home. I could never do complete justice to the beauty of these mountains, but maybe in some small way you can step into each painting yourself and feel just a touch of the beauty that God created.
